In collaboration with ASA asbl, ALAN organizes “Assistance dog workshops” for children who are members of ALAN and who are directly or indirectly affected by a rare disease.
This is an “animal-assisted activity” where the children meet two assistance dogs trained by Handi’chiens. The primary objective of these workshops is to allow children facing similar life challenges to get to know each other and share experiences in a protected environment. In addition, topics such as the regulation of emotions, relaxation and the activation of the sensorimotor system will be covered during the workshops. The workshops are supervised by Ms Nelly Nash of ASA asbl and the ALAN consultation team.
